Crepe had almost walked away entirely, but the pulls of his promise kept him steady. The bell above the door jingled alarmingly loud as the gremlin stepped through. He barely managed to avoid jumping at the noise as it broke him from his thoughts. If he showed any surprise on his face, the receptionist did not seem to take any notice.
